PAS-110/A
Compressor units type PAS-** meet to requirements of the European
Directive
94/9/EC (ATEX) for equipment in
group I, category M2, and can be used in methane and coal dust
exsplosion
hazardous areas of underground mines.
The PAS-55, PAS-75 and PAS-90 units are designed to allow for 500 or
1000 [V] connections via external changeovers. The PAS-22 units are
manufactured as 500 or 1000[V] power voltage network compatible model
types without the external changeover option. Optionally, the units may
also be fitted with:
- additional water-cooled oil cooler with water flow indicator,
- electrical water shut-off valve for additional water-cooled oil cooler,
- modules allowing for data transmission system connections.

Application
The explosion-proof compressor units series PAS are designed for operating in mine underground pits, in „a", „b" and „c" methane explosion hazard and „A" and „B" coal dust explosion hazard locations. The units may be used for supplying power directly to the machines powered with compressed air or as power supply systems for compressed air pipeline networks.
Design
The structure of the PAS-22, PAS-55, PAS-75 and PAS-90 compressor units is based on a screw compressor assembly. The units are air-cooled and in case of locations with low air circulation or high ambient temperatures, the units may be fitted with additional water-cooled oil cooler that utilizes water from the fire pipeline. The units are fitted in a solid container- like casing equipped with runners and handles for all transportation needs. Smaller width of the PAS-75 and PAS-90 units as compared with previous S-75G compressors ensures easy carriage and machine placement in drifts. The units are equipped with automatic control systems for ensuring safe and hand-free operation.
The compressor units are controlled by means of an RGS type starter as their integral part. The RGS starters are fitted with safety mechanisms protecting them against: increasing temperatures in motor windings, short-circuits, overloads, current and voltage asymmetries, excessive symmetrical voltage drops, incorrect phase sequence and excessive insulation resistance drops. The units are also fitted with a „load on/load off" pressure stabilization system. The structure of the pressure stabilization system is based on a pressure switch where low and high compressor pumping pressure values are set. The „load on/load off" system allows for:
The units are compatible with the systems used for transmitting the compressor data, e.g. to mine's ground level.

- closing air intake after reaching the high pumping pressure value - switching to neutral gear operation,
- when in neutral gear, turning off the compressor motor in case the pumping pressure does not drop below the minimum pressure value,
- opening air intake or turning the compressor motor on automatically (depending on operation mode) in case pressure drops below the minimum value.
The units are compatible with the systems used for transmitting the compressor data, e.g. to mine's ground level.
